Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 17 August 2026

Digital Library on Disability is committed to making disability-related information, publications, laws, policies, audio, video, and other resources usable by as many people as possible. We design and improve this website with people with disabilities, assistive-technology users, older people, and people using different devices or network conditions in mind.

Our accessibility goal

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA wherever reasonably possible. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, and we continue to review content, templates, documents, and interactive features as the library grows.

Accessibility features

  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and a skip-to-content link.
  • Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.
  • Clear headings, labels, focus indicators, and readable colour contrast.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images where supplied by content editors.
  • Audio, video, document, and publication information presented in structured library pages.
  • Support for browser zoom, text resizing, and common screen readers.

Documents and third-party content

Some older PDF documents, scanned publications, audio files, videos, or content embedded from third-party services may not yet meet every accessibility requirement. Third-party players and documents can also behave differently from the rest of this website.

If a resource is difficult to access, contact us with the page or document title and the format you need. Where practical, we will provide an accessible alternative or help you locate the information.

Known limitations and continuous improvement

We regularly review heading structure, form labels, keyboard operation, captions, transcripts, document quality, and mobile usability. Newly uploaded material should include accessible titles, descriptions, and alternative formats when available. Legacy material is improved according to user need and available resources.

Accessibility feedback

We welcome feedback from users and disability organisations. When reporting a problem, please include the page address, a short description of the difficulty, the browser or assistive technology used, and your preferred contact method.

We will acknowledge accessibility requests as soon as practical and work to provide a reasonable response or alternative.
