Over 300 community members attended our recent forum on accessibility challenges in public transportation. The event brought together people with disabilities, transportation officials, and advocates to discuss solutions and share experiences.
Key topics discussed included the need for more accessible buses and trains, improved training for transportation staff, and better communication systems. Participants shared personal stories about the barriers they face and proposed concrete solutions.
“This forum was a powerful reminder of why we need to keep fighting for accessibility,” said our Community Director. “The stories we heard today will inform our advocacy work and help us push for meaningful change.”
Following the forum, we will be compiling a report with recommendations that will be presented to transportation authorities. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for next month to continue the dialogue.
